HOUSE
year 2021

This project sets out to redesign a 20 years unconventional terrace house corner lot. With the idea to integrate quality living spaces and natural daylight into the ground floor spaces in mind, the existing maid’s room was demolished to transform the space into a dry kitchen.
The dry kitchen is then connected to wet kitchen through a double volume internal courtyard that allowing ample of natural daylight shine through the spaces. Introduction of the craft stone feature wall to the internal courtyard has added natural textures and visual dimension to the dry kitchen, successfully converting this space into the centerpiece for the house. A customized niche and artworks as backdrop, the dry kitchen island makes a perfect morning coffee station and evening dry bar. To create more intimate and cozy living spaces, a freestanding display shelves was brought in to divide the living and dining area. Different shades of grey tones layered onto natural walnut wood sets the colour mood of the living area, and this set of colours carries consistently through all spaces in the house.
